Phenomenas in the Sky
Only in the northern parts of the world, Aurora Borealis may be seen, or the Northern Light, if you wish. Anyone spotting the Aurora borealis watches it in awe, thinking its magic behind it, or the “Wine of the Gods”, since only Gods may touch it. Stories are often made, and some times even misinterpreted. The Northern Light appears any given day if its dark enough to spot it, and most often in winter.
Celebration:
North Dwellers don’t celebrate it too much, but believe in luck when it appears. Others believe in the opposite; Bad luck when it appears.
Once a year a comet; Arauka'Sul passes Arda, and vanishes into the black sky. Its orbit passes Arda around 17 June, and people of Havenhall rushes to the street to view the event. The event lasts for 3 hours and happens late evening.
As long as Arauka'Sul is seen on the evening sky, it is tradition to gather and wish others the best of luck. Gnomes celebrate this day nearly as their most important day in the year. Their curiosity to this phenomena is way bigger than any other phenomena. Dwarves usually shrug at any event in the sky, and Halflings often join in on most celebrations like this one.
30 December The last day in the year, Meteor swarms may be spotted if it is dark enough on the sky. Hardly anyone think it is a good sign seeing these light swarms hit the earth. Elves talk about stars falling down, Halflings keeps indoors this day, fearing that they will die if a star hit them. Gnomes are curious to the phenomena and watches the show in awe, humans are curious as well and watches it cheering to a keg of ale. Dwarves curses about elven products and keeps inside their own keeps.
Meteor swarms may be spotted during the whole year randomly, however theories are made by scholars that once a planet came too close to Arda's orbit, a planet that no longer exist, and its products are these meteor swarms.
