Greetings!

It has come to a time where we the Lot3k team wish to share with you, our players, what exactly has been going on behind the scenes with the much awaited Lot3k mod for NWN2.

Lot3k is a huge project; one cannot imagine how much work is needed to create a whole server from scratch, especially one on the NWN2 client. As you all may or may not have known, DreamCatcher was our previous Lot3k Leader while we went through the founding of much of what we will see in Lot3k today, but sadly even he could not manage both the current 3kds server and the Lot3k project at the same time.

Luckily Sherian soon took the reigns from him, and her first act as Head Developer was to split the Lot3k team into a further two teams.

• The Management Team (LadyThundy)
• The Development Team (Sherian)

The Development Team is responsible for building the module; everything that has to do with the toolset is their territory. (E.g. Scripting, Area Building etc.)

The Management Team is responsible for everything but the Toolset. (E.g. Creating Lot3k through writing, Rules, Balance, Dm Team, Player Relations, Publication of Material etc.)

These teams might be expanded when we see the need to and that responsibility falls into the hands of each team leader of the respected two teams.

 

 

LadyThundy leads the Management team; it is her job to make sure the deadlines are made, organisation is kept and to keep the public informed of Lot3k development. If deadlines aren't made she will be the one to make the quick decisions.

The Management team consists of four different roles:

1. The DM team - This is the team that will be the dungeon masters once the game goes live.
Members are: All current DM’s

2. The Story and Content team - This is the team that thins up the world, its history, the stories, the quests, the places. In short, this team thinks up lot3k.
Members are: Oracle, Wraith, MageKnight, Glyph, Sherian, SimpleSoul

3. The Balance Team - This is the team that makes sure all things are balanced in the module. This goes for weapons, armour, items, gold, PvP, classes, magic etc.
Members are: AwfullGood, Wraith, Stradicaster, Peer

4. The Rules and Regulations Team - This is the team that lays down the rules and regulations. Sadly we truly need this team; with our new server we will attract new and often reckless players.
Members are: AwfullGood, Wizadora, Wraith, SimpleSoul

In this team, members are free to advice in any team, but only members of a team will have a say in a vote.

Sherian leads the Development Team and it follows a system she already used with the build of another (nwn1) mod. This is called the 3ds development team setup. This team will be creating the mod from the toolset, turning all the words and ideas into a real breathing world.

The Development Team consists of six different roles:

1. The Architect - "Clays" the area and paints roads and water. Also places permanent building placables, as well as trees.

There are: SimpleSoul, Oracle, Wraith

2. The Artisans - Paints colours skin, weathers areas, chooses sky and time colorization and musical theme. Also places Mini-Map map-pin Waypoints

These are: Oracle

3. The Beast masters - Designs and modifies creatures and manages creature’s hives and creature positions.

These are: Peer

4. The Designer - Designs and manages items and manages loot spawns

These are: Wizadora, Peer

5. The Furbishers- Places placeables(except houses and trees) and transitions, as well as Placed Effects

These are: Oracle

6. The Scripters - Creating scripts for the mod.

These are: Sherian, Neophyte
